Dear New Friends,

I wonder when you last moved house? For my family and me it was only a few weeks ago. You know what it’s like, boxes everywhere and removal men who seem to need a cup of tea every ten seconds and the realisation that you have more ‘stuff’ than you really need.

My name is Neil Dunlop, my wife Vickie, our son Joseph and our dog Bones have moved into Moreton Morrell so I could fulfil the role as the new curate of the MidFosse parishes (working under your rector Revd John Burrell.) I have lived in south Warwickshire most of my life, growing up in Henley in Arden and lived in Dunnington (near Alcester) and Bidford on Avon so it’s not a huge distance away.

But to be honest we were a little worried about moving here. We have left friends and family to become part of this community. Now I know we shouldn’t have been concerned, we have had a lovely welcome from the churches and the community as a whole. It proved to me something that I have seen many times before that when you step out in faith, God is faithful, kind and compassionate. I believe he has called us here to be with you and I trust he will continue to guide and love us all.

We already feel accepted and loved by the people we have started to get to know - another sign for us that we are where God wants us to be. I hope you know the same God who has loved and cared for us as a family equally loves and cares for you.

I hope to meet many of you in the next few years. Please say hello if you see me walking my dog or cycling around the parishes (a vain attempt at getting fitter and using the car less)

In love,

Neil
